Program Recommendations
Project Ember often has a waiting list within minutes of opening registration. We wish we could welcome every single kid to camp, but given the nature of our work, small cohorts are crucial to our kids' success and safety. But don't fret - there are so many excellent programs offering kids a chance to hone their engineering skills here in the Bay and beyond.
Design/Build camps like those listed below also often work in small cohorts and sell out quickly, so plan your summer early. (Let us know if we missed any programs your family loves!)

Outdoor Education
Many of the core competencies we focus on at Project Ember stem from the world of wilderness expeditions and outdoor leadership. In both environments, participants learn how to work effectively (and joyfully!) on a team while problem-solving and managing real-world risk. Experiential education takes learning off the page and into the body. Our co-founder Katie has spent time training, leading, and collaborating with many of the following groups and gives them her highest recommendation.
NOLS (Nationwide, 14+)
GirlVentures (Bay Area, 11+)
Back to Earth (Bay Area, 13+)
Deer Hill Expeditions (CO, 11+)
